I like this little shelf at work. The plants are pretty and the flags of course, along with the mission statement. The yellow sign says, "Do Not Water!" because one elderly lady volunteer is always drowning the plants and flooding the shelf!

My cousin Joyce was buried today. It was so sad. We saw these pretty flowers at the cemetery but don't know what they are. They kind of look like lilies but are really tall.

The composition isn't great but the event is pretty funny. See Harley our neighbor puppy outside at the door? Elbie our cat is inside with me. Harley is just dying to get inside and play. The cat is staring him down. Finally the cat got bored and walked away.

The remnants of Hurricane Ike came roaring through here Sunday night. The wind blew over our bench in the backyard and it kind of crushed the black-eyed Susans. So while I'm taking a shower, Larry goes out to pick up the bench. A few minutes later he sticks his hand in the shower and hands me a flower. "Compliments of Ike," he says.

We went to  a house fire caused by an explosion. Two people died. The police are saying it was either a double murder or murder suicide.

I just think these two are so cute together. Harley's family bought Larry the sign when they were on vacation. Check out Larry's right arm. It has been swollen and red and hot for almost two weeks. The doctor doesn't know what it is. Larry thinks he got stung by a bee.

Pam and I spent the day together at her house. We were lucky enough to see the brand new butterfly immediately after she emerged from the cocoon. Once she opened her wings and started to move around a lot in the bowl, Pam took her outside to release her from the screen. I had never seen that happen before so it was a real treat! This is Delia, one of the receptionists at work. She is a sweetheart. I loved her shoes today! We are having the biggest fundraiser of the year on Saturday and she was making the bidding numbers for the auction.

We came home from Wegmans yesterday and there was this lonely little seagull wandering around the driveway. I told him to stay where he was and I would come back with some bread. Here he is eating a pita I brought out for him. High class bird.
