Now you know that the blog is really back when I start posting pictures of the cat. I thought this was so cute. She's sleeping on our bed with her face buried under the pillow. I just love this cat. She is a good little animal. She doesn't miss Harley though!

Pictures again!

This very handsome boy is Carter. I delivered this boy almost five years ago, although I do not like to use the word delivered. His MOM delivered him. I just caught him. His dad was busy on the phone with 911 so Larry helped. This little boy is a joy in our lives, as are his whole family.

We began having "Locke dates," with the kids, kind of like "grandparents dates," but without the genes.

A couple of weeks ago we took his brother out on a Locke date. Ever since, Carter has been clamoring for his own turn. He called me at work one day to ask when he could come over for lunch. (The kid was determined.) So last Tuesday our little friend, armed with books, showed up at our door for reading, lunch, and making cupcakes.

And play.

We read books.

We sat him on the phone book to have lunch.

We made cuppies with his very own special spoon I bought him. He immediately had to print his name on the handle.

And then Brother Locke brought out this cool toy and the two of them played. I was enchanted.

Jo-Ann and I were at the Red Wing game on a beautiful summer night. Towards the end of the game these gorgeous clouds started to billow up in the east. If you look behind the smoke stack you will see some of them. They really were beautiful. Turns out those clouds housed the storm that cut short the Hill Cumorah Pageant that night. Thunder. Lightning. Rain. Oh my.

I almost did it. I took a picture every day for a whole year, except that one day last week. Larry says I should keep it up because it helps me stay creative. I will see what happens. Feel free to stop by here any time. It just makes me SO MAD that I missed that one day. Oh well....

Barb came over to watch General Conference and have dinner. She brought little Lucy with her. Lucy and the cat got along actually pretty well. Lucy growled once and Elbie hissed once but after that they just eyed each other. We all were pleasantly surprised!

Check this out - Shaun rescued an abandoned dog Tuesday, brought her home, gave her two baths with oatmeal dog soap, brought her to the vet and then brought her in to the chapter for a while so she wouldn't be too lonely at home all day.
