November 30, 2008

This is my favorite Santa Claus from our collection, started many, many years ago. He has the nicest face, a beautiful coat and a bag full of toys.

November 29, 2008

Today I put up the Nativity set. My father made the stable so I keep it pretty primitive. I love Joseph. He's almost saying, "Don't anybody touch this baby."

November 28, 2008

Putting up the Christmas lights. Harley is supervising. He howled if Larry was out of his sight.

Happy Thanksgiving from the little family

November 26, 2008

Here is my husband getting ready for his white hots. There was only one hot dog roll left and he gave it to me, bless his heart. He's using hamburger rolls.

November 24, 2008

Can you tell this is a tripod? It is pretty cool. It can twist and turn and wrap around almost anything. It's an early gift for Larry.

November 22, 2008

Larry and I are undertaking a major filing project. I worked on it first for days and now we are wrapping it up together

November 20, 2008

My friend Jo-Ann came over today. We talked and had some lunch and she helped me fold our sheets! What a good friend. I love clean sheets. They make me a grateful person.

November 19, 2008

Clients turned friends, Lisa and son Robbie. Dad was at work. Lisa is like a daughter, we have so much in common it is uncanny. They took me out to lunch today at that Italian cafe called Oriens. I had the most delicious bowl of TRIPE! It was tender and sweet. Between the food and the company, I had a lovely afternoon, sore shoulder and all.

November 18, 2008

Pam, my best and eternal friend in all the world, brought these fun gifts over. The plaque is from CrankyCats. Check out the mouse with the towel over his arm! And the things that look like chocolates are a great game of deduction. With the clues you are given in the little notebook, you put the "chocolates" in the right spots in the board. Almost like a cross between MasterMind and Sudoku. Awesome.

November 14, 2008

This is my little lair, with all the stuff to keep me company while I recuperate - the chair, the blanket, the pillow, the barf bucket, the scanner, my iPod, my book, the phones and the ice pack. Am I set or what?

November 13, 1008

So we get to the pre-op area and there is everything all laid out on the bed. Here is my lovely cap to wear during surgery

November 12, 2008

November 11, 2008

Today I have the world's cleanest house because of my dynamite husband. For my birthday/surgery, he hired a cleaning lady to come and get the place spotless, so I wouldn't have to worry while I was incapacitated. Also he would be off the hook to clean! I don't know. That man is just amazing.

November 9, 2008

Our little Elbie was very affectionate today. She wanted attention. She wanted to be cuddled. She wouldn't let me read the paper! I just love this cat.

November 8, 2008

Self portrait with my new scanner that Larry bought. I used the timer on the camera for the first time and it turned out a little blurry but not bad. Larry got me the scanner so I could listen to police and fire calls while I'm all laid up with the shoulder. It's also a birthday present he says.

November 7, 2008

Chelsea and Daniel needed a ride to school Friday. I was lucky enough to take them!

November 6, 2008

No man and his dog picture today! This is across the street. Take away the power lines and it's quite pretty. It's funny how some trees have lost all their leaves and others are still so brilliant. I wanted to snap this before all the leaves were gone.

November 5, 2008

I know, I know. Another Larry and Harley photo. But the weather is SO gorgeous and they are having SO much fun and I love the leaf in Larry's hat.

November 4, 2008

This evening I was sad, thinking of the possibility that the election will turn out really bad for this country. But as I stood in the kitchen and looked at our dining room, I felt peaceful and grateful. Not only did the room look pretty with the Thanksgiving tablecloth, but I was so grateful that we even have a dining room. Hopefully the country will be strong in the future. I'm a little worried.

November 3, 2008

All those lovely red leaves from our neighbor's maple tree are now on the ground. So here are Harley and Larry playing in the leaves. They both just loved it!

November 2, 2008

An absolutely gorgeous night, with the crescent moon and Jupiter (top left.) I wish it was bigger and easier to see. If it's clear where you live tonight or Monday night, check out the sky show. It's beautiful! You should also be able to see Venus near the moon when it's really dark out.
