July 30, 2008

Although this is blurry, I still love it. Larry and Jillian. They are both so cute I can hardly stand it.

July 29, 2008

My friend is visiting from Las Vegas. This is her room when she is here. We love her anyway.

July 26, 2008

As part of Larry's calling with the Hill Cumorah pageant, he has to send out DVD's to those who requested one. This is PART of the pile!

July 25, 2008

The United Way building is across the parking lot from the Red Cross. As I was sitting at my desk at work today gazing out the window, I thought, "That building has a very cool roof." Here it is.

July 24, 2008

Rain, rain, rain. You'd think I was still in Alaska. This is on Ridgeway and Long Pond this afternoon about 5:30pm. Another big black cloud had moved in.

July 23, 2008

If you can guess what this is, you win!  Hmmmm.....it's the head of Red E. Fox, who is the mascot of a local AA baseball team. One of the Red Cross volunteers wears this along with the whole costume to the games.

NOW the hydrangeas are looking so pretty. Love this color...

July 21, 2008

Today I was dead tired. First to the orthodontist, then visiting teaching, then to physical therapy for the shoulder. I was then going to take my mother-in-law grocery shopping. But when I got home, Larry had already taken her shopping for me and even came home with bagels!! He knew I was tired. He is my knight in shining armor.

Unpacking cool souvenirs from Alaska!

July 19, 2008

On our way home. It was a pretty sunrise as we approached JFK

July 18, 2008

Throwing fish at the famous Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle.

July 17, 2008

As we walked around Vancouver, we stopped in this church. I thought the stained glass was pretty.

July 16, 2008

Okay, okay. This is boring. But I forgot that I was supposed to be doing my photo a day. I'm lucky I got this one! This is the view from our hotel window in Vancouver, BC. The cruise was over.

July 15, 2008

The ship had a chocolate buffet one day. This is a cream puff swan with chocolate ice cream.

July 14, 2008

This is Creek St. in Ketchikan. This city is the rainiest in North America. They measure the rain they get in FEET, not inches! We had sun that day. The first sun we saw in days!

July 13, 2008

We took the White Pass and Yukon Railway from Skagway. This was one of the views from the train. Our ship is docked in that water.

July 12, 2008

Southeastern Alaska is a rainforest. News to me! This was in Juneau.

July 11, 2008

A beautiful bald eagle WAY up in a tree in Sitka. See his white head? Click on the photo for a great close-up.

July 10, 2008

I woke up at 5:30am to this vision from the deck. These are glaciers in the College Fjord

July 9, 2008

Whittier, Alaska where the ship was docked. We sailed from there to our first stop - College Fjord!

July 8, 2008

Couldn't resist playing tourist and snapping this right before we boarded the plane to Anchorage

July 7, 2008

While trying to pack for my trip, something suspiciously furry appears on the bed

July 6, 2008

My dear friend Paula gave me this as a bon voyage gift. How nice! I'm on my way to Alaska tomorrow and getting very excited!!! So there won't be any "photos of the day" for a while, unless I can squeeze one in tonight.

July 5, 2008

For the longest time the cat would turn up missing. We knew she was in the house but she had found some hidey-hole that WE could not find, until now! She has been hiding under my desk. So I had to grab a picture of her under there. This is her reaction to having been found. I just love it.

July 4, 2008

So I stood there threading fruit for I don't know HOW long, but it looked pretty in the end. The little kids especially enjoyed chowing down the fruit on a stick. Larry, on the other hand, was at Hill Cumorah helping out with registration for the pageant as part of his calling. On the 4th of JULY!

July 2, 2008

The hydrangeas are huge this year! They haven't turned that pretty purpley/blue yet but when they do, they will be knockouts.

July 1, 2008

Can you tell we went to the library?! (And to a Chinese buffet - see the fortune cookies?)
